Sorry this post is so late. I should have had it up on Friday. Well, we have now completed the third week of May's Eating From the Pantry Challenge. During the month of May my goal is to eat more from our pantry and cut my grocery and household spending to $160. At the end of week two I had already spent $229.83 which put me $69.83 over budget.
This week I was very good. We only stopped at the grocery store once and that was because we were out of bananas. Pumpkin needs her bananas so we had to go. At least we only got bananas and spent $1.12. Finally, a good week.
For week 4 I'm already over budget. I was bad and went to Costco again. Ugh! I need to stay out of that place until next month. Since we are now working on selling our home and buying a new one, I really need to work on eating from our stockpile. This is mainly so that we don't have to move it all. Plus it will allow us to save up some money for those unexpected expenses that seem to crop up when you move. It looks like it's going to be an interesting summer for us.
Head over to Learning The Frugal Life to see how she is doing with the May Eating From the Pantry Challenge and to find links to the other participants in this challenge. Do you think you're up to the challenge of eating from your pantry this month? If so, join us.
