Uses For Old Crayons

I'm sure that every family out there with children has old broken and unwanted crayons sitting around their house. While you could just throw away your old unwanted crayons, that just adds more stuff to our landfills. Crayons take a long time to decompose. It is so much greener if you can find another use for those old crayons. To help you out, here are some ideas for inspiration:

Thrifty Fun has a post with all kinds of uses for old crayons. Here are some of the uses listed:
  • Make new crayons
  • Wax paper shapes
  • Crayon painting
  • Adding color to candles
  • Fire starters
  • Decorating Easter Eggs
  • Sell them at a yard sale
If you're not feeling crafty or don't have the time for any of the above ideas, you can still recycle your old crayons. You can box up your old broken and unwanted crayons and Crazy Crayon will recycle them. This prevents your old crayons from cluttering up the landfill. Get together with your friends and neighbors and start a collection. You do have to pay postage for this, but it is better then just throwing them away. Save up and send in one large shipment instead of several small ones to save money.

What do you do with your old crayons?
